Happy birthday, Ange~ Will you come over for dinner tonight? We can have a little party just like we used to. Well, not quite the same seeing as your father isn't around, but we all know the highlight is having Battler there anyway.
I want to make up for our absence, in some small way.

I'm extending an open invitation to any of Ange's friends as well. I'll be making dinner as well as dessert and you're welcome to stay as little or long as you like. The only condition is, please keep it a secret from Ange, I want it to be a surprise.

Oh, yeah, definitely! Lots of people! We play puzzles and we fight dragons, and we do lots of fun things like that.

Would you like to play with my children and myself sometime? I'm sure my son will like your hair too, pigtails are too cute.

Yeah!! I'd love to play; we can color or do jump rope, or we can even bake something yummy!

That really does sound fun! Jump rope is much more fun with two people holding the ends for you, right? And baking is my specialty~

Yeah, it's a lot more fun. Jumping by yourself can get all lonely...

But baking sounds fun! What kindsa' things do you like to bake?

Everyone likes baking cookies, right? But my children also like things like melon bread. Ah, banana bread is good too... I like to make whatever people like to eat!

Melon bread?

What's melon bread? Does it taste really good?

It does! There's no point making something that doesn't taste really good, right? The ingredients are almost the same as what you would put in a cookie, but it's fluffy like bread and has a honeydew melon flavour.

I dunno, mama makes brussels sprouts in the pot sometimes and those are icky!

But melon bread sounds really good! I wonder if mama knows how to make that...

Haha, that's true, but you need to eat things like that because they're healthy! I try to make sure to make things that are healthy and also taste good - sometimes you have to sneak little bits of vegetables into tasty things.

Is your mother here?

Yup! My mama and my papa! Both of them went home once, but they came back, so it was okay.

Oh, you're very lucky! Is that your whole family, then?

Yeah! But I have people I call my big bros and sisters from my world - some of them are here, too! So I kinda have even more family, even though there's only three of us in our old house!

How big is your family then - do they live with you here? It must be nice to have so many people you're so close with.

Four of us live in a house right now - my mama, papa, and then my big sister! She's a really cool mechanic; she can even make arms and legs for people, if they need them.

Artificial body parts? That's very impressive! People haven't figured out how to make those very well in my time. You're lucky to have someone so smart for a big sister, you're sure to be a very smart women as well!

I-I dunno; my big sis is pretty smart! I don't think I could be as smart as her or big bro...

Oh, but I'm sure you're very smart already, and if you have two people to help teach you, then you'll definitely be just like them, right?

Yeah! I sure hope I can be like them, because they're good people to try to be like!

And then there's even your parents on top of that, if they have such a good daughter, they must be good people as well. You're certainly very lucky.
